Love the House

“I love the house where you live, O Lord, the place where your glory dwells.” – Psalm 26:8 (NIV84)
Dear Church,
We are truly blessed to own our spacious building and expansive 9 acres, completely debt-free. This blessing is because of God’s faithful provision through the obedient and sacrificial giving of NWAOG members and attendees like you.
As you may know, part of owning and being good stewards of our property requires maintenance, renovation, and even replacement. Our church building and grounds are used to further the Kingdom of God all throughout the week, with approximately 450 adults, teenagers, and children calling it their church home. Not only do we meet together every week, but also three additional churches use our space on a regular basis. Along with countless outreaches, meetings, and special events throughout the year, our building is well loved and frequently used.
We launched this Capital Campaign with an exciting all-church series called, “Be the Church.” And, we believe that one very crucial way to effectively “Be the Church” is to love the House of God. And just like we all work to take care of our own homes, how much more should we give attention and care to God’s House?
With the general oversight of the Board of Deacons, and myself, the Capital Campaign Committee, chaired by Katie Scott, has met faithfully conducting a comprehensive assessment of all building/facility and equipment necessities. Some highlights of these needs include: A new roof, parking lot, exterior identification sign, interior furniture, carpet and flooring, second floor bathroom renovations, and audio/visual equipment.
After much research and prayer, we have set our goal for this campaign at $500,000 to be raised in 500 days (or 17 months, concluding on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013). During the leadership dinner, the Capital Campaign Committee will be presenting a complete overview of the church’s needs and the plan to reach our goal.
I ask that you begin praying now as you read through this presentation book about how God will use you to partner with us in this campaign. As I always say, it’s not equal giving; it’s equal sacrifice. Let’s join together to love the House well, because God has entrusted it to us.
Because of the Cause,
Pastor Rich Weller
